A Celebration of Life will be held for Mrs. Joyce Tucker on Monday, November 27, 2023, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Service and interment to follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

The purpose of Biblical Soul Care is to provide help for those who are struggling and hurting so that they may experience the hope and freedom that we have in Christ. It is the process by which we enter a loving relationship with another person to help them understand their suffering biblically and apply the good news of Jesus Christ to their lives by faith.

We all tend to get stuck in the Christian life, don’t we? All of us have discovered that our suffering , struggles, and our sin have a way of taking our eyes off Jesus. What do we do when we find ourselves in this place? How do we help others that have found themselves here as well? Our solution at Mt. Zion Baptist Church is Biblical Soul Care.

We believe soul care is an integral part of discipleship.  We seek to address life’s challenges by walking with you, opening the Scriptures, and pointing you to Jesus. The base layer of soul care happens through discipleship and Christian friendships.  At Mt. Zion we offer this through small groups, Sunday school,  and a variety of ministry opportunities.   There are times when someone needs more direction from someone trained in Soul Care.  That’s why we have Biblical Soul Care & Counseling.  Our Soul Care team is equipped to address more complex issues through the healing truths of Scripture.  Soul Care team members are trained to counsel from the Scriptures, to get to root issues, and to humbly point to the Gospel and person of Jesus Christ for hope, help, and healing.

Zion Baptist Church that will listen to you, love you, and share the truths and promises of God’s Word with you for your joy and God’s glory. We offer both informal discipleship and formal biblical counseling to individuals.

Paul Tripp once said, “We’ll never be able to hire enough counselors to adequately care for the counseling needs in our own church” (Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands). With this in mind, Mt. Zion Baptist Church is passionate about equipping everyday disciples with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to care for the sinner or sufferer in their midst. Our Biblical Soul Care Training is designed to grow you, train you, and prepare you to disciple people  who are hurting in the context of everyday relationships in the local church.

Are you interested in becoming a Certified Biblical Counselor? Mt. Zion Baptist has built relationships with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) to provide formal counselor training opportunities for you here at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Please let us know if you’d like to join others in our church that have begun the process of becoming a certified Biblical Counselor!
